Defendant Geico Casualty Company’s motions to compel are MOOT. Sanctions are imposed in the reduced total amount of $1,280.00 against Plaintiffs’ counsel of record, Gregory Byberg.

On November 27, 2019, Plaintiffs Santiago Gonzalez and Mayra Lopez-Gonzalez filed the instant insurance bad faith case against Defendants Geico Casualty Company. The Complaint regards the theft of Plaintiffs’ 2013 Nissan Ultima insured by Geico. Plaintiff’s son stole the vehicle. Geico denied Plaintiffs claim on the theft. The Complaint states two causes of action for breach of contract and breach of implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing.

On August 10, 2020, Defendant filed eight substantively similar motions to compel initial discovery responses to form & special interrogatories, requests for production of documents and deem matters admitted as to each Plaintiff. On October 22, 2020, Plaintiffs filed oppositions.
